Chinese Service

The Chinese & Dialect Ministry is a vibrant, loving and caring community of people. With a weekly attendance of about 120, you will find young adults, families as well as the older folks in our Sunday Celebration Service. We minister to the Chinese, Cantonese and Hokkien speaking groups. Members come not only from Singapore, but from various parts of the region, such as China, Malaysia, Indonesia and Taiwan. Ours is a congregation filled with much passion for Christ!

While the weekly Sunday services are conducted in Mandarin, we have a monthly Sunday Service which includes a Hokkien translation. Chinese NewLife groups gather every Tuesday afternoons for worship, word and get-togethers. Worship and music is also very mush a part of our services and outreaches.

We welcome you, our friend, to come and meet with us.

Yours Sincerely,

Rev John Chin
Chinese Pastor

Young Adults

I'd been a lukewarm Christian since 2001 and during this time, I've always put my relationships (be it boyfriend, family or friends) and lifestyle above God. I was a Christian, but my heart wasn't fully committed. I didn't think I loved God back then, and wasn't sure if I was ever going to. Naturally, my Christian walk was placid and feeble through irregular attendances at Sunday services and Friday Life groups, minimal prayers and "barely there" reading of His Word.

The turning point came in 2004 when my boyfriend and I broke up for the third and final time. I was devastated and struggled to move on. But once again, God came to my rescue. I came to Him in repentance and tears, and offered my life over to Him. I was tired of steering my life my way and having to salvage the mess I created. His Word spoke volumes to me and gave me the affirmation I searched for. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest in your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."- Mathew 11:28-30

God is so good and faithful. As I experienced various trials and disappointments in this journey through life, He accompanied me and delivered me through them, drew me in closer to Him, provided the love and solace I sought, and helped built character in me. And He didn't do it alone, my friends and sisters in Christ were always there supporting me, with their love and prayers.

Jesus took my empty life and exchanged it with His abundant one. Today, my life is fuller than before because I no longer live for myself. I lead a Life Group in the Youth Ministry, pray for others, study the Bible, connect with other Christians and live my life God's way. I now do more inside and outside of church than I've ever done before. And I do all of it cheerfully and voluntarily. As I learn to trust, obey and serve God, He continues to provide, empower and stretch my life.

I now have a brand new life that I'm proud of. And a spanking new gym membership to sweeten the deal.

Warmest regards,

Youth

hey dudes! I'm Nick. At first I couldn't believe they asked me to contribute to this, but now I see why. You see, before I came to YNL, my grades were really bad - like my attitude.

I couldn't care less about school or my attitude towards my family. My dad was really angry with me. When I came to YNL and believed in Jesus, God somehow changed my attitude (trust me it took a real miracle) and my leaders made sure I kept my commitments as a student and now even my parents are happy I'm going to church! My youth pastor and leaders are really pesky (in a good way) about my being a good testimony in school and at home and my mentor Chong Ming is simply great!

Anyway, I'd better tell u more about our youth group. We're a really crazy bunch. We worship God, help one another, reach out to our friends and learn to grow to become more like Christ - and through that, learn to help others follow Jesus. Wow! What a mouthful! But you get it right?

So join us as we reach our generation for Jesus! Its gonna be an exciting journey.

Cheers,

Kids

I've got two bubbly boys and they are a handful. With these two boys, I'm convinced that it really takes a whole village to bring up a child. This is why I firmly believe in immersing my boys in Christian community.

I found that Christian community right here in Centre of New Life's Children's programme. In this church, they go to great lengths to provide my boys with an exciting and wholesome learning environment. I know because every weekend, they rush up to me to share all the things they've learnt in Sunday School.

Some days they would shove their craftwork in my face, other days they would be singing (more like shouting) the 'hit' songs they learnt that day and still on other days they would replay (again and again) the latest Sunday School games. Whenever I ask them what they learnt that day, they would always compete to shout out the day's memory verse.

From the very beginning, the teachers shared simply and clearly to my sons about God and salvation and lead them in receiving Jesus into their hearts. Today they know Jesus as their personal saviour and are little missionaries in their schools, sharing about God's love with their friends. Thanks teachers for giving them a life-changing encounter with Jesus through your Bible teaching!

There are many great kids programs out there, but as parents, my husband and I believe that the best people are those who care. And at our CNL children's ministries we know we've got caring people teaching our kids. And that is why today I'm one of them.

Yours sincerely,
